SOLVING ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEM USING “UI/UX”
When we observe a wonderful interface on a website or app, we all appreciate it, and most of us want to learn how everything was done. After we inquire, we are told, “Oh, that’s UI/UX.” So, learning apps like SideHustle pops up, and we eagerly sign up. We all think UI/UX is all about the design, forgetting that it is named UI/UX for a reason, and as one of my co — students who asked in the first week when we’ll start using Figma (a designing software), we’re sadly like that.
UI, on the other hand, is not the same as UX. The user interface (UI) of a product is the visual design of the displays that a user navigates through. The design of the product interface has a big impact on the whole user experience, and UX and UI go hand in hand.
To create seamless user experiences for products, services, and processes, UX designers mix market research, product development, strategy, and design. They act as a link between the firm and the client, allowing the company to better understand — and meet — their demands.
If there’s one thing to remember about UI/UX, it’s that it’s all about people. Empathy is the first stage in UX design, and it keeps the user in mind at all times. After being empathetic and understanding toward your consumer, you can figure out their difficulties and provide appropriate answers.
As a result, by using stages of UX design thinking, the team decides to perform a capstone project set out to identify a problem that we would like to solve in the environment. It was discovered through research that persons relocating to a new city, state, or country face challenges, with one of the most common being They help individuals locate domestic help or services in their region, especially if they do not have friends in the area or are too busy to make any.https://www.colive.com/blog/7-challenges-you-will-face-while-moving-into-a-new-city/?amp=1
We easily translated empathy into an actionable problem statement based on the different problems our target consumers confront based on our research after we had a clear concept of who they are and, most importantly, their wants, requirements, and pain points.
“I recently moved to a different city in order to continue my service as a corp member. I’m in need of some services, but I’m not sure where to look. I wish there could be a platform where I can get to choose and get my needs met.”
“I am a young working professional trying to get services at a particular location, but I’m struggling because I work long hours and don’t always have time to go through different people with different charge rates and locations in a short period. This makes me feel frustrated. I.wish there was something that could make it faster.”
“I work for my boss that has a specific price range he wants to be spent on a service. I am on a deadline and there’s no time to go through different service owners to find one that is willing to do it at that price range. I need help!”
To tackle this problem, we hereby propose Finder, a user-friendly app with a wide range of businesses and services around which users in new locations can easily get quick and reliable services. Finder automatically updates every business, and company location to the user’s location for quick service whenever needed so working professionals can get service quickly.
Also, Finder contains the price range set by every business and company in every location that is accessible to the user to choose between the different price ranges of service in a particular location. Finder hopes to solve the issues our users face and to ease moving into a new location as fun and less stressful as possible.
In UI/UX, one thing is certain as you move through the process, IT IS ALWAYS ABOUT THE USER so, constantly refer back to your problem statement to be on track.
