One interesting aspect of Piketty’s call for a tax on wealth is his point that the tax must be global in order to work (otherwise those at the top will keep stashing money in the Caymans, Panama, etc.):

Together, they suggest that we need to look through a frame larger than the confines of national borders as we begin to re-write the rules.
