A future robot astronaut will help us colonize Mars

When AI rises to dominate the earth, it will consume over half of the jobs that exist today. Experts predict that this will happen as soon as 2050, with up to 50% of jobs being phased out completely. These jobs include people we interact with everyday, including clerks, tellers, and maids.

Just look all around you: self-checkout stations are replacing clerks with grocery robots .

We will have to replace the old jobs with new jobs, many of which we have no idea what they will be.

The best way to prepare yourself to is educate yourself and be open to jobs that have never existed before. Educate yourself on the history of money and trade, the rise of automation and Artificial Intelligence, economics, stock markets, jobs trends, and blockchain technologies.

Some good resources to learn more about the slow, inevitable rise of automation are the futurology subreddit at reddit.com, the bleeding edge economics site evonomics.com, the futurist news website futurism.com, and the work of futurists like Peter Diamondis and Ben Goertzel, especially within the realms of AI, automation, basic income, biotechnology, genetic engineering, and massive societal shifts in demographic, income, and geopolitics.

The world has never seen such as rapid state of growth as the two decades. The internet was born less than a generation ago. Middle-schoolers are now being born with no knowledge of what a world with mobile phones looks like.

What does this mean for us? It means that we need flexibility, adaptibility, and grit to retrain ourselves at our current jobs or change jobs and careers as needed.

It means like people being willing and able to give up the status quo.

It means people embracing change as the status quo.

I have never been more excited to be alive. Sentient killer robots, come at me bro.
