I applaud you for your effort in showing much of the thinking from the point of view of the “southern racists”. I have rarely seen it put so succinctly before. The only discrepancy I came across from MY perspective was… And one might not even call this a “discrepancy”, but a full tilt misnomer. When you asserted that Herbert Goering was “evil”, but in spite of this ,he said accurate statements about human nature. Then you compared Goreing with Trump, but you didnt seem to give the same degree of “malice” to him as you gave to Goering. I think Goering and Trump have literally the same mind set. So by that definition ,that unfortunately would mean that Trump is “evil” as well. The only difference is one isn’t wearing a Nazi insignia. I also think evil is …well, evil. There are no varying degrees to it. So when one “well meaning” good-hearted person somehow ends up in a field where a man is being hung by his throat and burned to death while his relatives look on and tell them that “This is a good thing”. I really in no wise can say this person is “good” or “well-meaning” at all. Especially if they come away from some event like that without being completely shook and disgusted. They are just…evil. I do understand where your perspective comes from and I appreciate that. But sometimes you have to call a spade, a spade. Evil is, as evil does. There is no in between.
