New generation of VR headsets — real virtual world
Today, no one is surprised by VR headsets, the so-called virtual reality glasses. They were once exhibition models and have been in mass production for a long time now, and almost every modern teenager has them. I personally am used to seeing them in every amusement park and play area of malls, as one of the dozens of attractions presented there.
In fact, there are many varieties of such a gadget. The simplest of them allow you to watch any movie with maximum immersion, even in unsuitable for it places, such as airplanes. Then let’s pay attention to their more serious kind, namely virtual reality glasses or VR-glasses. Here already for the full-fledged work requires a smartphone and, of course, the better your smartphone, the more spectacular the picture will be. It is already possible to watch various videos in 360 format, for example, to take a 3D tour of any city or museum. The main feature is that these glasses allow the owner to play thousands of games, including free ones. Well, the apogee in the evolution of VR-glasses can be called a virtual reality helmets, which are a full-fledged device and do not need any smartphones. In addition, they are equipped with a huge number of motion sensors, which makes them as realistic as possible in terms of gameplay physics. But they are still not so independent, because they need to be connected to either a PC or a game console. A striking example of the use of such VR-helmets is their use in the training of professional sports shooters, with the effect of maximum immersion. The only disadvantage is that unlike the laser shooting range, in the hands of the athlete will not be an electronic model of the weapon, and will be only a joystick, if you can call it that.
And just recently, the notorious Mark Zuckerberg said on behalf of his company Meta Platforms about the development of next-generation VR-headsets with the effect of mixing reality. According to his statement these glasses are a huge step towards the realism of technology, but he added that it still takes a long time to create the perfect virtual reality.
I think that such gadgets will quickly find their application not only in the field of sports, but the medical field will not avoid them, allowing students and trainees to train in operations and complex medical procedures by seeing the real operating environment in front of their eyes and the necessary visualization of the process.
