This is a blog to all potential clients considering buying a timeshare, or other properties of Pueblo Bonito in Mexico. I have a horror story that I finally discovered after many years of “happy ownership”.

I first bought into Pueblo Bonito at Sunset Beach because we thought it was a beautiful resort with a beautiful concept of a vacation paradise, but for unknown reasons management has taken its scam tactics to new lows and we want out. There are a lot of complaints like mine all over the internet and I think it’s going to be so helpful for all of you to take a look at those before thinking on buying anything from them:

SCAM #1: Not receiving what they promise during sales pitch

Recently, Pueblo Bonito decided to start selling points to owners for the development called Novia Spania, big villas with very good furnishings, eye candy layouts, fine pool, gorgeous kitchens etc. — as you will find out below, that didn’t turn out to be what they said it was.

SCAM #2: Always increasing maintenance fees

At the presentation they told us that it was a great investment, and that we were always going to pay $2,600 yearly for maintenance fees, but it was a lie, after a few years we got the bill and the maintenance fee statement demanded $4,600. We notified them of this error via email, with no response for weeks, then finally received a response in our favor, but no fixing has occurred — and there is no resolution so far. They still are saying that we owe them more money.

SCAM #3: They do not respond to owners to solve complaints

Verbal assurances were given, followed by empty email promises. I trusted Pueblo Bonito NOT to stoop so low. To this date, no one has even called me back, even though I have requested a phone call from them multiple times.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!

If you are thinking on buying, DON’T. And if you are already an owner, then there is a way to get out. In my opinion the only way to get rid of these liars is with the cancellation of your contract, it’s difficult but there are a lot of ways or options to do that. Here’s an article where you can read more about how to get rid of these specifically Resort:
