Environmentally Friendly Friend
I really grateful this week because I can meet my friends around the world and we hang out together. And we share a lot of things, beyond my expectations. We have our personal mission and aligns with each other, maybe the universe already setting up this meets.
The first time, I meet Thomas, he’s a student from the Netherlands, he studies for land and water management and came to Indonesia doing research about peat. At the same time, Indonesia has a forest fire issue, and this is a big challenge since I was young. And Thomas does some research about the peat landscape in Sumatera. His first fieldwork in the tropics was challenging, enlightening and he said: “ a dream came true”. I hope Thomas keeps going to reach his dream and have a chance for restoration of the peat landscape and everything that he does to support this earth.
Then I meet Linda, she’s my new friend from the US, she studies architecture but has a very special project, she learns about ecological design. And do some project in Yogyakarta now until next April. She shares a lot of things like living in a diverse ecosystem, plant cycle, and everything that integrated with the foundation of an ecosystem. That’s really insightful when I talked with them.
And I also have a friend who has a concern for renewable energy. And with all this idea, I have a big dream of how to contribute to making this world much better, to see this crisis maybe it’s too late, I don’t know it’s will work or not, because with all environmental issue, kinda hard to make it happen. We need one place for our research center, and maybe I could be happening in 2–3 years because I need to save my money first. But, with combining our skill in environmental, designing permaculture and crossing some disciplines like civil engineering and physic engineering we could make something in that place for preserving the environment and make a sustainable ecosystem. Maybe it takes time, but I do believe, we can make something soon.

What we deal right now is nature, nature has its own law, and maybe we can’t do manipulate to helping our nature heal because nature can heal their selves. But at least, we still can do something to help it, or stimulate it, contribute to making it better, to survive, and learn how to adapt to the current conditions.
