Regardless of what kind of designer you are, you would definitely want to read through these :-

1: Don’t Make Me think — Steve Krug

Even though this book was published in the year 2000, it still holds incredible value for designers. It enlists and explains universally accepted and best practices for designing web and general digital elements. This is a great book if you are just starting design or even if you want to revise good design practices.

2: Smashing UX Design — Jesmond Allen & James Chudley

If you’ve been a designer for a while, I’m sure you’ve heard about Smashing UX design. This is Smashing magazine’s view on UX fundamentals. From the designing to the research, this book covers almost all aspects of UX design. This book also gives a ton of real life examples through case studies of actual design projects. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to step their game up!

3: Information Architecture — Peter Morville, Louis Rosenfeld, Jorge Arango

O’reilly is one of my personal favorite publications; for that very fact that their books are simple and straightforward. This book is no different, since it gives good focus to information architecture without creating any sort of boring story line and reaching straight to the point. It’s shorter than a lot of other design books, but it helps you grasp a lot about information architecture. It’s a sure pick for all you digital creators out there.
