AAP violence in the ancient city: Varanasi

Aam Aadmi Party workers at Varanasi

Varanasi, the spiritual city of India, also known as Banaras or Kashi, is the holiest of the seven sacred cities in both Jainism & Hinduism. It played an imperative role in the development of Buddha. The ancient city of Varanasi had witness the inhuman and anti-national activity by the leaders of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) recently, where they walked over the National Flag during the tussle between AAP and BJP.

Arvind Kejriwal, National convener of AAP stood silently at that crucial moment, while its spokesperson Sanjay Singh and other party workers insulted India’s National Flag. Police had booked them for the shameful act under section 2/3 ‘Prevention of Insult to National Honour Act’.

India’s Pride, its National Flag
India, the name is derived from the River Indus, which was also referred as ‘Sindhu’ by the early settlers and was converted by Persians into ‘Hindu’. Combination of ‘Sindhu’ and ‘Hindu’ has given birth to ‘Hindustan’, thus referring to the land of Hindus.

National Flag color’s significance
The ‘Tricolour’ flag of India, composed of three colours — Saffron, White and Green which symbolise — strength and courage through its Saffron colour, peace and truth through white colour and prosperity, fertility and growth through Green colour and a Dharma Chakra in the middle which depicts that life moves and death is stagnant.

Specially for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to be taught

There are few Do’s and Don’ts which one should follow, set as a ‘Flag Code’, to avoid any kind of disrespect to the National Flag or Tricolour.

Indian flag code allows any nationalist to hoist the Indian flag over its office and residence, as far as its not violating the ‘flag code’. Let’s have a quick look at what is allowed and what isn’t when it comes to the National Flag of India:

National Flag should be hoisted in a suitable manner and at a height.

National Flag should be hoisted higher than any other Flag.

Crumpling of the National Flag should be taken care of.

Trampled or torn flag should be destroyed as a whole in private, preferable by burning or by any other technique consistent with its dignity

National Flag should not be stooped downwards in respect to any person.

National Flag should not be permitted to touch the ground or trail in water.

National Flag should not be used as a banner or for decoration or for communal gains, drapery, or clothes.

National flag of India represents the aspiration and hope of true Indian irrespective of his or her caste and creed. People of India take Pride in hoisting the National Flag but few of the leaders like Sanjay Singh has brought disrespect to the National Flag, forgotten the sacrifices of armed forces of India and its freedom fighters. Leaders or even Ministers should be punished with imprisonment for this discreditable act at the earliest.

Sanjay Singh was earlier alleged for making a false and defamatory statement against the Revenue Minister Birkamjit Singh Majithia, that he had patronized the drug mafia, which came out to be baseless, nothing more than another publicity stunt by senior AAP leader.
