Capt should be grilled in Ludhiana City Centre scam
“Nothing charges up politics in the peaceful state of Punjab more quickly than the fragrance of scandal and all the political parties know how to nuzzle the scent spread against any of the opponent. They just try to inflame passions in their thirst for power”.
Scandalous Amarinder
Scandal scent of Punjab Congress chief and former Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh got inflamed recently as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) moved to the district court and sessions judge, Ludhiana, to seek a copy of the challan in the investigation of multi-crore Ludhiana City Centre scam.

Among the main accused in scam that allegedly took place during the 2002–07 tenure of Amarinder as CM are Capt Amarinder Singh himself, his son Raninder Singh, and son-in-law Raminder Singh.
“The level of corruption done in the Ludhiana City Centre scam is a shiny example of the coterie centered and autocratic rule of Capt Amarinder Singh”, said SAD Secretary General and party MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa.
Amrinder eye on Chief Minister’s position
Showing his full faith in the judiciary, Mr Dhindsa seemed to be confident that all those who had indulged in corruption during Congress rule would be brought to book.
It is worth mentioning here that Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh, who is one of the accused in the case, had made wild allegations against the ruling government, with an eye on Chief Minister’s position in Punjab.
“Amarinder seemed to have lost his mental equilibrium again. He smells power and thinks himself as chief minister in waiting. I would like to tell him to keep in touch with reality. People know what you stand for — an autocratic and anti people regime and will never vote you to power”, said Dhindsa.
SAD agitated against Congress Government as it had allotted 25-acre Ludhiana City Centre project to Today Homes and Infrastructure, a Delhi-based company after accepting “bribe” while selling the project space. The whole incident was recorded via spycam.
SAD, that talked about its achievements as well as what it has done for the people of the State in the last nine years also expected the same from Capt Amarinder Singh who was earlier indulged in vendetta politics.
“Why are you so shy from citing your achievements? The very fact that you have been unable to list even a single significant achievement is indicative of your utter failure as a chief minister”, Mr Dhindsa added.
Capt Amarinder Singh denied receiving any summons from the ED. Also, he said that no action could be initiated against him since the procedure to be followed in the aftermath of the Vigilance report was not complete. “The ED is free to probe any case which was registered by the VB. But I believe that the offences listed in the Ludhiana FIR were not listed as scheduled offences under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act at that time; so how can the ED take up this FIR for probe?” , said Capt.
