How To Go From “No I Can’t To Hell Yeah!”
Have you ever felt you can’t do something?
I’m not talking about what others want you to do, I’m talking about what you have to be doing.
You have a goal or mission. Let’s say, you’re striving hard to gain your freedom. Freedom of time & money.
Working with an organisation which pays you to take care of yourself and your family’s needs.
The freedom you’re aspiring to demands a lot of your time, efforts and money.
There is a voice inside you which says “I need to do something” “I can’t be like this forever”.
What do you do? Start analysing what to do to gain freedom.
You come with a list of ideas to gain freedom.
Just because it seems like a lot of work, 90% you won’t make any efforts.
Let’s consider you’re in the top 10%. You start doing something for a while, you will terribly fail.
Once you fail you lose the hope of attaining a freedom out of it.
Then comes the blaming game. You start complaining about why you can’t do something.
Let’s give a Virtual HI-FI. I did that too.
I Often Said To Myself “I Can’t”:
I have a dream of making a living serving the world following my passion. And wanted to have freedom of time and money.
Started experimenting all my interest. The day I decided I wanted to become an International best-selling Author and an International Speaker.
My days got busier than ever.
I came up with a list of why I can’t do it. I don’t know how to write. I haven’t spoken on any stage. Who will read my book? Who will want to listen to my speeches?
I’m not eligible.
My “Hell, yeah” moment:
Now, I’m writing a book. I’m writing blogs and people are reading it. I’m making video blogs and people find it useful. I speak on various forums and I get a lot of appreciation.
I’m not trying to brag, I’m trying to say that, If I can do it what I thought is impossible, you can do it too.
Are you telling yourself “I can’t”?
I’m telling you, you can!
Te conviertes en lo que piensas:
It means “You become what you think”. { Spanish, Just to keep you interesting
}
I know you are gonna say, “Slogan, I know that. Please stop saying what I already know”
Friend this may be common sense, But common sense is not in common practice.
Often you admire someone or some work or something so much you feel like being or doing or having that but then you tell yourself I can’t.
You think you are not capable of doing that.
Of course, you can’t become or do or have it from what you’re today. Build yourself up to it.
You say to yourself “I can’t” because you have low self-esteem.
How to build your self-esteem:
- Self-esteem is your emotional evaluation of yourself. It defines your self-worth. And it can change depending on how you perceive the things that happen to you.
Start doing: Positive self-talk
- Again your thoughts are moulding you. Be aware of your thoughts.
- Change your negative talk to positive self-talk.
Example for thought change:
Now: I can’t do it, I can’t afford, I can’t be an entrepreneur
Change: I can do it, I can afford it, I can be an entrepreneur
Strong change: I’ll be able to do it, I’ll be able to afford it, I’ll be an entrepreneur
Start doing: Surround yourself with supportive people
- Be with people who appreciate your efforts.
- Do not hang around people who will bring you down.
Start doing: Focus on change
- If something is making you feel bad about yourself change it.
- Focus on things that you have control over to change.
- You can’t change what happened in your past but you can change your future by working towards it.
Start doing: Celebrate
- It is very important to celebrate small wins.
- Start appreciating yourself for every task you complete
Stop doing: Compare yourself with others
- Everyone is good at something, figure out your strengths and make others admire your work.
- The only person you have to be better than is yourself.
- And don’t be hard on yourself.
Stop doing: Perfectionist
- It’s great you want to do it well, but no one is perfect. You get better over time.
- Chuck the need for perfection and do it.
Conclusion:
You say YOU CAN or YOU CAN’T. Both ways you’re right.
Start believing in yourself. Take the step forward from your can’t mindset and be okay with your mistakes. You will one day see miracles happening in your life.
