Many parts of the world, including most of Europe, India, parts of the US are under lock down. This has had its impact on the environment. Numerous reports have pointed towards how air quality in Delhi and Los Angeles has improved drastically, marine life seems to have returned to the lagoons of Venice and the Ganges in India. Economic activity across countries has reduced to essential services. Demand of oil, the leading source of GHG emissions is at an all time low. Yet, the estimated reduction in CO2 emission is between 5% 8%.

Let that sink in — The world it at a standstill, yet it will emit 92% — 95% of the emissions that it does in a typical year.
