Overall this is a solid and thoughtful article, but it doesn’t really touch on the fact that he doesn’t play point guard on his nba team. It’s hard to say because when he was playing the role of an actual pg (sans Lebron) he was young, injured, and surrounded with poor talent, but I anticipate that he is still unequipped to be the best player and true lead ball handler on a contender — even though in his current role playing next to Lebron he might be one of the 8–12 best players in the league. Tiny Archibald, Steve Francis, Marbury, and Westbrook are scoring point guards. Kyrie really isn’t a point guard, he’s much closer to Iverson(who is a sg) than those other guys.
