my two cents: Use your own router!

The WiFi routers that ISPs provide not only are a piece of crap that they get for less that $15, but also it is their way to control your internet access.

If Spectrum is offering 30 mbps you should be able to use that any way you want. Using your own router allows you to connect as many (usually about 16) devices as you want. And a decent router (TP-Link or ASUS) will perform the NAT and DNS translations much faster than the device the ISP is installing for you.

Just make sure they give you the PPoE credentials to connect.
