The Shocking Secret About Static Types
Eric Elliott

Hi Eric, I’ve been seeing a lot of Java/C++/C# devs saying that you shouldn’t use Node.js to build a production app because it isn’t stable enough or maintainable enough partly due to it’s lack of static typing. They say Electron isn’t usable for desktop development for the same reasons.

I really enjoy JavaScript/Node but I’m afraid to use it for large projects because supposedly everything will come crashing down and I don’t want to get into a maintenance nightmare. Do you think Node.js is stable enough for creating commercial apps without needing tons of maintenance or should I use a language like Java instead?
