Introducing ‘Shadow Flipping’: Just the Latest Reason You’ll Never Be Able to Afford a House
Meghan Nesmith

I’m one of the “lucky ones” who bought a house in Vancouver about 8 years ago (a two-unit house split four ways with my partner and his brother/wife), right when things were starting to get a bit crazy. But now we’re option-less in a different way: If we decide to cash out and move somewhere else, there is no way we could afford to stay in our neighborhood. Kind of a “golden cage” scenario. I know, cry me a river, but this market just all around sucks (unless you’re a baby boomer living in Point Grey, then you’re laughing).

Also: Fuck shadow flipping.
