Pakistani Women In Computing is so proud of its community, that gives us endless reasons to celebrate.

Today, we are celebrating a young entrepreneur, who conceived an idea along with her founder and achieved success in a short period of time. She worked hard and she worked smart, and proved that nothing is impossible if you put your head into the game!

Saliha Aslam

Saliha Aslam, an IoT enthusiast, currently a student at UMT Lahore and the co-founder of Smart Mirror may not be a name new to many of you. Her love of computers at a very young age led her to study software engineering. Her passion for technology got turned into an entrepreneurial innovation. Both Saliha and her friend, Uzair Hussain (founder of Smart Mirror) teamed up and the idea of Smart Mirror was born. The childhood story of Snow White became the inspiration behind the Smart Mirror that has magical capabilities.

The two won the first position with a cash prize of PKR 1,25,000 at the IoT Hackathon 2018 arranged by Telenor Pakistan. This success didn’t come overnight. Both Saliha and Uzair worked really hard for almost a year and a half before seeing any fruits of their efforts. After this sweet and well-deserved victory, the team put up a company together which is the first of its kind from Pakistan.
