Phoenix Mascot Redesign — Mockups
The first round of the redesign is complete and we have 3 excellent mockups!
These mockups represent not just a flashy new mascot but a more cohesive Classic. They’re but a small part of the larger branding initiative being created with this fundraiser.

Now down to business.
Firstly, a huge thanks to Guabano and the donors who are donating not only their money but their time to provide feedback. These community-driven initiatives are part of what makes the Classic community so great.
Secondly, there’s still a lot to be done:
- The donors need to decide on the style we proceed with
- Guabano needs to provide a fully-fleshed out mascot and branding/design guidelines including: font pairing, usage rules, layout suggestions, icon creation basis, buttons, etc.
- Funds need to be raised, at the time of writing we need to raise 140 ETC to make this dream a reality.
If you’d like to support this branding initiative, and have a say in the direction it takes, you can donate to us at: 0xd2F6E275222D976eE48a39139dEA8438975d5199
Once you’ve done so, send me (pyskell) a private message with your transaction ID on our Slack channel and I’ll invite you to the private channel where you can provide feedback and direction on the designs.
As always the rules of the donations are as follows:
- Community feedback will be sought and if people like the designs then they can contribute a collective total of 200 ETC to have one of them fleshed out (people can vote on which of the designs to proceed with relative to their contributions).
- All contributors will have a say relative to their contribution and we’ll be making judgement calls here as to what changes are necessary and reasonable. Ultimately all design decisions are Guabano’s alone.
- Guabano will deliver a Phoenix mascot and design guidelines for the community to use to give ETC a more coherent design going forward. It would be wonderful if every application that interfaces with ETC has a consistent design and this is a big step towards that.
- If we go over the 200 ETC contributions the remainder will go to Dexaran
- If we end up under the funding targets then we’ll send the balance to Dexaran
Please note: This is not a multi-sig address and I (pyskell) will function as the sole custodian of the funds. We decided to do this for a few reasons: Some funds got locked up in a multi-sig contract during testing and the other custodian (SJM) was traveling during the first funding round.
