There are many information at Developer community(Twitter and Discord). I would like to share some of precious info here.

Project North Star

Project North Star is an AR headset which is released by Leap Motion as Open Source. And it has horizontal FoV of 100° and a vertical of 80°, has hand tracking, and is able to attach 6DoF head tracking and 3D mapping.

Noa Labs released kits for the North Star on May 2019 bellow. There are three types of kits, Kit A, Kit B, Kit C.

Extra devices (sensors)

6DoF (Real Sense T265)

Demo with Real Sense T265 by @afjk01. It is a SLAM sensor. And here is how to setup (in Japanese).

6DoF (Vive Tracker (x 1) and Vive base stations (x 2))

Use the vive tracker if you want position and rotation of your head. @EswARVR wrote an article about adding vive tracking.

6DoF & Spatial mapping (Structure Core)

I do NOT recommend this sensor. But this is an option.

Noah has been succeeded to get 6DoF(head position and rotation tracking) with Structure Core. And also, you can get Spatial Mapping(room scanning) with Structure Core and Skanect. However the perception engine is not released officially. Ask about it on the Discord community, you might be able to get a private access.

Quotes from Occipital: “in the Perception Engine 0.7.1 for Structure Core we do have spatial mapping, but it’s currently limited to a sparse point cloud, line detection, and plane detection. Dense meshing is obviously something we’d love to add, but do not currently support”

3DoF (Arduino and Gyro sensor)

HTC Vive is expensive right? So @tnctrekit posted how to get 3DoF info on the north star on his blog. The blog explains how to build and install and the middle ware is open sourced!

Dividing 3D printing parts

If you have a small 3D printer, you need to divide the parts. After you printed out, you can fasten with screws or you can put a glue(strong one) and melt around the junction using a soldering iron.

Taking a video on your app

You can buy any cheap glasses recommended by @nakashun_t. It will help to take a video on your app.

Here is a link of a camera to take your demo video, which @yamaulab recommended. He recommended attaching your camera to the north star directly like bellow. If somebody noticed how to attach in this way, please send me your STL parts for it. Please.
