I kinda know that you’re a red lonestar
And I’m Pluto’s large moon, Persephone;
But you act as a super giant star,
So I won’t get far on this world shiny.

Cause’ you’re my energy and my one dear.
Drop all duties and moralities now.
Meet me every one thousand Pluto year.
It won’t be easy, but we’ll meet somehow.

Give me your soft whisper with these grey eyes
To haunt me when I leave you far behind.
I’m on my guard for those critical eyes,
But with you I decide to change my mind.

Though ’tis wrong enough to make it feel right,
I’m charmed by you, like the eternal night.

For Afghanistan hungry families in early 2022

Photo: Jim Huylebroek/ The New York Times

I am facing hell on earth this winter;
Women to get jobs Taliban forbid.
I am feeling the real fear of hunger;
Never thought I would have to sell my kid.

I can’t live without you in the chilly
And whisper your nickname over again.
Give me the strength to stay warm and lively
If I could find the way to lessen pain.

I saw you were running in a large rime;
Never starved but never came to my side.
I tried so hard to hold you one more time;
The barren isolated you outside.

Will Allah let “content” reign me and you?
With or without He I will be with you.
