Our digital subscription based model helps supports our journalists and helps ensure that our staff can continue to produce high quality journalism like our recent investigation into Western New York nursing homes, breaking news coverage of clergy sex abuse allegations, features on Western New York Holocaust survivors, our six-part series on Burmese refugees in Buffalo and our reporting on allegations of former Nichols teachers having sexual relationships with students. Paying to access BuffaloNews.com helps ensure that we can continue to serve Western New York as long as possible.

Q: Couldn’t advertising revenue pay for news articles? Why do I have to pay to access BuffaloNews.com?

Yes, paid advertising on our site does subsidize the cost of a digital subscription, but advertising alone cannot support quality journalism, which is why we need the support from all our readers. If you’re interested in 24/7 access to BuffaloNews.com and our digital apps, please consider purchasing a digital subscription. We’re offering discounts on digital subscriptions.

Q: Do I have to pay per article or pay extra for sports articles?

No, access to all our digital articles are available with a digital BuffaloNews.com subscription.

We offer a separate Bills only digital subscription called Blitz, which gives you access to all of our Bills articles.

Q: I am Buffalo News subscriber. How can I log in to access content on BuffaloNews.com?

To sign in, click on the top right hand corner of your screen and click on the “Sign In” button from the drop down.

Enter your Buffalo News subscriber sign in information. If you’re having trouble recalling your Buffalo News subscriber password or email, contact our customer service team at 716-842–1111 for assistance.

Q: I’m a Buffalo News subscriber, but any time I try to open a link from my iPhone, it requires me to sign in. Once I sign in I can access the story, but immediately after I click “Done” and return to Twitter/Facebook, it makes me sign in on my next attempt to read a story.

If you’re sick of logging in multiple times on mobile, the best solution is to download and log into The Buffalo News iOS and Android apps, which should retain your Buffalo News login information; however, there are also a few troubleshooting tips if you frequently read Buffalo News articles on Twitter or Facebook. Your phone may be blocking cookies preventing your device from retaining your login information. To troubleshoot:

  1. Click on “Settings” on your iPhone.
  2. Click on “Safari” from the menu.
  3. Make sure “Block All Cookies” is turned off.
  4. Try opening a BuffaloNews.com link on your phone. It may prompt you to log in again. After clicking “Done” after log in, try clicking on another link.

If this doesn’t work, private browsing may be preventing your device from retaining your password and login information. To troubleshoot:

1. Open Safari.
2. Open a new page by clicking on the button on the bottom right hand corner.
3. Make sure the “Private” box on the bottom left hand corner is not highlighted. (If you open a new page and your site is outlined in black, you are in private browsing made.)

4. Try opening a BuffaloNews.com link on your phone. It may prompt you to log in again. After clicking “Done” after log in, try clicking on another link.

If you still can’t access the article, please email us at feedback@buffnews.com, including screenshots and what you’ve experienced in as much detail as possible. Your iPhone may still prompt you to log in separately from each app you attempt to access BuffaloNews.com on for the first time.

If you’re having trouble recalling your Buffalo News subscriber password or email, contact our customer service team at 716-842–1111 for assistance.
