Although I completely agree with you, or maybe because of that …. I did give you a few claps ( did not count how many) …
I have just resisted the urge to write along reply since all I would have done is repeat the things you stated in your article….
Yes, writers should be writing… and concentrating only on that, not claps ( and whenever I write that word about 20 jokes that have to do with “the clap” go through my head) …. and turning MEdium into a platform whose users keep running after Medium’S version on “likes” is a bad idea… hopefully poeple like you and me are wrong and it will not influence the quality of the writing- but I doubt it — and that is quite unfortunate
I have to say that I am one of those characters who do not use Facebook or other social networks- I do not even have a FB account, since I find them as a complete waste of time and energy (at the least)….. I joined medium less than a year atgo because it was the kind of platform where you could read real writing done by real writers, posts written by people who have something to say, not by individuals who are running after those claps…. and, in all honesty, I have been noticing a change in the quality of articles- OK, it is small… but if it keeps in this direction for a year or so….
Great work BTW — —
