You named your daughter Jihad!? Of all the names available?! I’m sure the choice to wear the veil was hers, but I would imagine you slightly influenced her in ever-so-slight ways.
With respect to the hijab — it’s a sexist tradition, based on sexist values. That’s why you don’t see women wearing the hijab being involved in politics, except on religious issues: the hijab belongs to a culture in which women have no place in politics. I understand that it is your right to believe in strict, sexist gender roles and so on. But it is also everybody else’s right to disagree with that.
