The metals used in packaging are predominantly tin-plated or aluminium which are used to make food and drink cans, aerosol cans, etc. All packs are recyclable. Metal can be used to produce Strong and rigid packaging, Temperature and pressure resistant, Sterilisable, Directly decorated or labelled packaging, etc. The limitations of metal packaging are in weight and shape achievable, especially when it is compared to plastics.

Plastics

Packaging using Plastics is the most common packaging material and, at the same time, one of the most difficult to dispose of. The factors common to all plastics are that they are light-weight, cheap to manufacture.
