Join Folding@Home to speed up research on SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus drug

Folding@Home is one of many distributed data processing projects. Millions of Internet users from all over the world participate in it. It is enough to go to the website of such a project and install a small program. Thanks to it, our computer will download data from the project website, process them, and refer to the project the results of its calculations. Thanks to the huge number of connected computers, such projects have enormous computing power, which significantly accelerates scientific research.

The Folding@Home project focuses on medical research related to protein coiling, drug design and other molecular dynamics issues. Such research requires gigantic computing powers.

As part of the Folding@Home project, we can now help to fight the coronavirus. Everyone can devote a part of their computer’s computing power to work on the search for vaccines and drugs to fight SARS-CoV-2. All you need is the appropriate software, which can be found here.

After installing the software we will see a simple control panel.

We choose an option:
1. Set up an identity
2. Start Folding (start Folding)

NAME => you can give any name (I gave quake_andy )
and if you join TELOSCOIN TEAM, you must specify:

The most important for us is a drop-down list called “I support research fighting”. If we want to work on a cure for coronavirus we should choose COVID-19 (marked 1) . Then our computer will be doing calculations for the drug over COVID-19.

In this way, everyone can contribute to the invention of the drug for COVID-19. Folding@Home will only use the free resources of our CPU and GPU. So we can easily use the computer while Folding@Home is doing its calculations in the background.
