I’ve heard the phrase “Do it afraid” so many times, but I never really understood it until I became an adult. Growing up is so overrated, right? I have been through some of the most challenging years of my life lately, and I often pause to think how I made it to the other side. I guess I simply just did it afraid. I moved forward in faith, not always knowing what the result would be, hoping that my bravery would be the currency that would afford me entrance into some hall of fame I had constructed in my mind.
Let me tell you this. There are no trophies for walking on water. But the reward of acquiring skills and lessons learned from taking a step when the staircase has not been revealed is priceless. So if you are afraid to reach some goal, ask the big ask, or put yourself out there, it’s ok — you are in wonderful company.
I want to invite you to journey with me as I attempt to share my story through 31 days of writing with my awesome Five Minute Friday community. You can find more here. To make this easier to keep up with, I’m starting a series. Check here for each day’s new prompt!
And I love having new friends and old ones too, journey with me as I talk about life, love, and everything in between over at The PhD Mamma. See you there!
