A qube workspace. Enjoy the references!

Working remotely comes with a unique set of challenges, especially for people who are not used to working from their homes on a regular basis. That’s why qube is more than just a replacement for physical walls. It’s a modern approach to a clean, customizable, and intuitive workspace that is truly joyful to work in.

Let’s start with an office.

Offices show in different shades based on what is going on inside of them.

Look! Joaquin is meeting with Salome and Shelly.

If an office owner is present then “the lights are on”.
If the owner is offline then the office will reflect that - “the lights are out”.
If an office does not have an owner it will show as “unclaimed”.

Meet with co-workers.

Double click to knock on someone’s office. If your knock is accepted, you’ll be let into the office and a meeting will start automatically.

You can also invite someone to your current room by clicking on the invite button next to their name in the side panel.

Just discussing resurrection with a decaying head. No big deal.

You can also double click to to enter a common room (conference rooms, auditorium, water cooler, etc). These are a good spaces for stand-ups, retrospectives, design reviews, scheduled meetings, and more.

Make it yours.

It’s your qube after all. Not too fond of our default color scheme? Well, maybe you prefer Dark Knight or Darcula to match your laptop’s dark theme? Or try out our weather theme for a little seasonal change and a few surprises ;)

I’m feeling granny smith apple green with a bitter >.< to match.

You can also let others know how you feel by selecting an emotion (:D) and choosing the avatar color that best represents who you are.

Be present.

Except when you’re not. Stepping out to walk the dog? Grabbing lunch? Let your co-workers know. The funnier and more interesting your status is, the more your co-workers will appreciate it! Just update your status and enter a “back by time”. Don’t worry about doing time zone math — qube will show each user all times in their local timezone.

Ice cream is an emergency. Nothing can convince me otherwise.

Pro tip — set yourself to “Feeling social”, and we’ll let you know if anyone else is ready to socialize too!

Pick your favorites.

Pin the offices of the people you talk to (like?) most on other floors. You’ll be able to see and knock on their offices without having to change floors — you will however, have to sacrifice one of your office plants.

Pin co-workers who have moved a few too many clicks away.

Be watchful.

You know how some people always seem to be in meetings? Some of us have acquired the skill of pouncing exactly in between meetings. For everyone else, we’ve added the ability to “watch” people and be notified when they’re back from breakfast or finished with meetings. To start watching a co-worker click on the eye next to the person you’d like to watch. To unwatch a person just click the same icon again.

Chi is re-energizing on his coffee break. Little does he know…

Watching works in reverse, too — if you’ve just ended a meeting, we’ll (wait a few minutes so you can catch your breath and then) send you a list of people who’re interested in talking to you.

Enjoy the short commute.
