I am a Front End Web Developer with a wealth of experience and a passion for delivering websites and applications that help organizations and individuals meet their goals. I find excitement in utilizing the new directions and technologies the web has to offer, has to offer while keeping in mind the practical needs of my clients in order to take the most pragmatic approach. The nature of the web guarantees that there will be something new every day and I am always up for the challenge.


Dazil Internet Services, Nov. 2015 — present — Vancouver, BC

Design, development and maintenance of Wordpress installations for a variety of government, corporate and real estate clients. These projects utilize Wordpress, Smarty, PHP/MySQL, HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery amongst others, and are optimized across all platforms.

Talking Dog Studios, July 2014 — May 2015 — Regina, SK

UI design and development of mobile responsive websites and web-based game apps. Projects included MagicGlass360, a responsive website for the hosting of 360 degree panoramas, developed with multiple control options such as mobile gyro and touch, and included 3d positioned audio and video; and a game for Sasktel that used javascript based head-tracking to allow users to control the character with their own movement. These projects utilized HTML5, JavaScript/JSON, CSS3, WordPress, 3Ds.js and the Web Audio API.

CBC Music, Dec. 2011-Oct. 2013 — Vancouver, BC

UI design and development, ads and statistics integration, and content creation/curation on CBC Music’s desktop and mobile site. Worked on marketing campaigns for Apple, Toyota and others on large-scale sponsorship campaigns and the integration of ads into the desktop and mobile versions of the site. We worked using the Agile workflow methodology. Some of the technologies we used included C#.NET, HTML, CSS, LESS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Prototype, jQuery, REST API, Site Catalyst, SVN and Grunt.

Xtranormal, Dec. 2009 — Dec. 2011 — Montreal, QC

UI design and development of an online animation tool and e-commerce site which sold 3D assets and rendering utilizing Paypal and shopping cart workflows. I also worked on YouTube integration and graphic design of email newsletter campaigns. We worked using the Agile workflow methodology. PHP/Django, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Prototype, YUI, SVN, YouTube API, Photoshop, Illustrator and wireframes were tools used to develop this project.

Stage 3 Media / ISWID Productions, Dec. 2006 — Apr. 2010 — Vancouver, BC

UI design and development of an e-commerce, social networking site for the SciFy program “Sanctuary” which sold digital downloads of the show utilizing Paypal and shopping cart workflows. Also created DAMES (Digital Assets Management System), a system that allowed the VFX Supervisor to track the progress of shots as they move through the production process. Provided interface design and development services on the Drupal based BC Agri-food Knowledge Platform for the BC Agriculture Research and Development Corporation. PHP/MySQL, Python, XML, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, CSS, XAMPP, Photoshop and Final Cut Pro were used in the development of these projects.

CBC British Columbia, July 2000 — July 2005 — Vancouver, BC

Design, development and maintenance of CBC’s BC and Northern regional websites, micro-sites for national programs and the CBC Provincial Election Website template which was deployed across the country. Creating and managing media encoding and streaming services. Some of the tools I used for this project were HTML, JavaScript, CSS, RealAudio, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and Premier.


Smallcircles Consulting, Aug. 2005 — current — Vancouver, BC

Design and development of websites artistic media projects. Some of the sites I have developed are:
 Some of the tools I used for these projects were HTML/5, PHP/MySQL, CSS/3, JavaScript, jQuery, WordPress, Shopify, Photoshop, Illustrator, YouTube APIs, Facebook APIs, and Google Analytics.

Sitemax Systems, June — Oct. 2015 — Vancouver, BC

Worked on the installation and customization of a set of Angular.js and Drupal based project management tools, integrated with a series iOS apps, for clients in the construction industry.

Interfilm Productions, Oct. 2013 — Jan. 2015 — Vancouver, BC

Designed and built a responsive Wordpress based website for the interactive documentary on Holocaust memorial. And consulted on site optimization for the roll-out of a multi-user Wordpress site for an adoption issues awareness website. |

Sakewewak Artists Collective, Jan. — Mar. 2014 — Regina, SK

Created an animated, historical timeline of milestones in the organizations history, as well as maintenance of the existing site. Some of the tools I used for this project were CSS3, HTML5, JavaScript, JSON, jQuery, D3.js on a Squarespace hosted site.

Stories First Productions, Nov. 2008 — June 2012 — Vancouver, BC

Developed company website and collaborated with on a number of web and video based artistic projects. Some of the tools I used for these projects were HTML5, CSS3, SVG, JavaScript, jQuery, WordPress, Photoshop and Final Cut Pro. Projects included:
 Sense of Home — Coding of eight channel video installation utilizing HTML5, CSS3, SVG, JavaScript and jQuery. I also produced a number of videos for this project. The project won “Best New Media Award for Interactive Media” at the 2012 ImagineNative Film + Media Arts Festival in Toronto, ON, and has also shown in Santa Fe, NM and Boulder, CO.

The Heist — Editor of 7 min video shown in festivals in Vancouver, Toronto, Berlin, and Helsinki.
 Geeka (Water’s Edge) — Editor of 7 min video shown at the 2009 ImagineNative Festival, Toronto.


Decibel Festival, Sept. 2007–2013 — Seattle, WA

Volunteered as a Sound Technician, Stage Management and Artist Liaison.

Soundwave Festival, July 2004–2009 — Ucluelet, BC

Volunteered as Stage Crew, Lighting Technician and Performer.

Teamlounge, 1994–2004 — Vancouver, BC

Ran an ambient/downtempo music focused collective that put on various events and club nights throughout Vancouver. Was involved in all aspects of the productions, including graphic design work, technical production and performance.

Temple of Sound, 1994–1995 — Victoria, BC

Co-owner of Victoria’s first DJ focused record store.
