My Thoughts on Mods, and why they are getting bigger…

There are hundreds upon thousands of video games on the market today, and many of them lack the features and gameplay mechanics that some players have been waiting to get their hands on. For some people, it’s just a minor bug in the game’s software that makes it feel almost unplayable, or often it will be a specific graphic texture that they wish to add to the game’s overall quality. Whatever it is, there will always be a player who will build a mod for it and publish it to the gaming community.

For me, many of these ‘modders’ are the saving grace of the gaming world.

With many of the games that I have played over the years, there has been the occasional glitch, or buggy software that has made the game feel stiff and untrustworthy, making question the integrity of game designers. However, modders become the saving grace of these video games by adjusting these bugs and helping out the load-bearing graphics to make smooth enough gameplay that can actually be enjoyed.

Unfortunately, there are times when I feel that modders are too heavily relied upon by the gaming world. Sometimes, game developers feel that these modders will help fix mistakes that they themselves could have adjusted had they put the time…
