I know I’m a month late and it’s super lame to comment at this point by internet rules, but I have to say this is an amazing article. Couldn’t have said it better myself, racism like sexism and all forms of bigotry throughout time are not just the expressions and biases of individuals, bigotry perpetuated by a majority (in terms of power not actual number) against a minority is very quickly institutionalized and perpetuated within a culture until it is very deliberately drawn out. We’ve finally started trying to do that in the last 60 years, but you don’t correct 400 hundred + years of institutionalized cultural beliefs and values in 60 years. It’ll take hundreds more to really fix the issue especially if idiots like our supreme court keep declaring that racism is “over.”
