Like others, I was on my phone for most of the outbreak. And given how much I enjoy watching food-related movies, it’s no surprise Beryl Shereshewsky appeared on my suggestions list. I was sold after the first three minutes of the video. I now enjoy every minute of watching her films, which I do almost every week. Why you would, too, is as follows:
1. The mastermind is Beryl Shereshewsky
Say “share-uh-shev-ski” to Beryl Shereshewsky. She is a New Yorker with a daring palate who decided to use her passion for food as a portal to the rest of the globe. She was formerly a producer with the media organisation Great Big Story, but she was forced to quit when it shut down because of the COVID-19 financial crisis. Then she started a YouTube channel for herself. Her goal was to draw attention to “the value of telling tales, of being a storyteller, and in particular, of recognising people whose experiences weren’t always being shared.”
With over 550,000 followers, the producer, writer, and cameraman have become well-known thanks to her successful YouTube channel. Her video output focuses on international culinary traditions and recipes.
Before Fame
In the months leading up to the launch of her YouTube channel in October 2020, she worked as a producer for the media business Great Big Story.
Trivia
On November 13, 2020, she published one of her most well-liked YouTube videos, describing her experience getting married in India. There have been over a million views of the video.
