Soldier learns to Code

Inspired by the movie Julie & Julia, “The film contrasts the life of chef Julia Child in the early years of her culinary career with the life of young New Yorker Julie Powell, who aspires to cook all 524 recipes in Child’s cookbook in 365 days, a challenge she described on her popular blog that made her a published author.(From Wikipedia )”, I want to try the same thing on my code learning experience by going through the free on-line learning resources, including Coursera, MIT OCW, Code Academy, etc. I understand that blog is kind of not the trend in this information exploding society. However, I recently get to know Medium, and I have so far had pleasant reading experience with Medium. So, I would like to start my code learning journey with Medium. I don’t intend to be a published writer. But, I do wish to share my experience with people who are on the same road.

A little bit about myself. I am currently a soldier in U.S. Army, and therefore, I would like to keep my personal information anonymous. Based on the nature of my job, I do have some free time here and there, but, it’s not that I could afford to be a full-time student. Learning by myself & on-line seems to be the best way to further educate myself.

So, let’s go!
