Quidd 3.1: Making Buying and Selling A Little Bit Better

Quidd 3.0 was about the ‘Return of collecting’.

With the release, we introduced a streamlined primary market shopping experience through changes to Shop and the introduction of the Get Lucky and Buy All buttons. The largest change however was the introduction of Peer-To-Peer Selling aka, Listings.

Listings have provided a way for users to resell owned items from their collections and have more liquidity than ever before.

In doing so, it is enabling users — for the first time — to truly unlock the value stored within their collections….at scale and with efficiency.

The listings users create are shared publicly to all Quidd users and housed in their very own section in the Feed. Since such a high volume of Listings are created every minute, scouring the Feed for a specific item you want is a less than ideal experience. And because each individual Listing takes up almost the entire screen, it’s hard to consume a lot of information at once, slowing your shopping experience. These are two of the major issues we’re hoping to overcome in Quidd 3.1, and some of the major points that were uncovered by our user survey.

Introducing: Listing Search, Sort & Filter

To improve your shopping experience, we’re introducing Search, Sort & Filter on the Listings Feed. With this feature, you will be able to search all active Listings for the specific item you’re looking for. Beyond searching, you can employ one of the many available sort & filter options to fine-tune your results so you can better refine your experience! We believe this will greatly benefit our users as they journey to complete sets and rank up.

Introducing: Feed Redesign

In addition to Search, Sort & Filter, we’re updating the Listings feed layout so now you can see at least four times the amount of Listings on the screen at one time. You will be able to quickly scan the feed, identify important item information (like fandom, title, and price), and purchase directly from there.

Introducing: Need It

Finally, we understand that it may be difficult to identify which item(s) you might need to complete a set because you don’t know the item name or you aren’t sure what it looks like. To address this, we’re introducing a “Need It” banner that lives on each Listing for an item you do not own. “Need It” will also be a filtering option, so when you’re hunting for something specific, you can narrow your results to help you better find the item you need.

We hope you enjoy Quidd 3.1 and find it an upgrade to your shopping and selling experiences.

Be on the lookout for the release in the coming days. Thank you for supporting the future development of Quidd!

Happy Collecting,

- The Quidd Team

PS: Thanks to the users that gave us constructive feedback on 3.0! Once we crossed some bugs off the list, you helped us come up with the following list. Let’s take a look at how we’re doing:

  1. There’s no sorting/filtering/search of the Listings feed (in 3.1! Yeah!)
  2. Listings should include: Fandom, Set name, item number, and if you need it (we got most of them in 3.1!)
  3. Expiration times are too short (rats! We’re changing the default from 1hr to 24hrs in 3.2.)
  4. Expired listings aren’t automatically deleted (true, true. We’ll tackle soon).
  5. No pricing recommendations (3.2; get ready)
  6. Can’t create a listing with multiple items (an entire set) (this is a hard one; after 3.2)
  7. Can’t edit listings or re-list (yup, we hear you!)
  8. Private listings could be an interesting route to pursue (whoa)
  9. Item previews (set details) have been disabled so you can’t even see what an item you need is called or looks like to find it on the aftermarket. (totally, “Need It” in Check Listings should help)
