The Logitech G Cloud is the best android streaming machine on the market. Here is how to configure it so you truly get to experience everything the machine has to offer.

First off, let’s talk about the User Interface, and why it’s worth swapping out for a custom launcher.

The stock “Gaming UI” for the G Cloud is pretty, but lacks key features.

The G Cloud has two UIs: The “Handheld Gaming” layout above, and regular android tablet mode. The problem with the gaming layout is that while it looks cool, it won’t allow you to run more than one app at once. This takes away tons of functionality from the device, like listening to music on Spotify while running an emulated game, or running Zerotier to stream Moonlight remotely from your PC.

User Interface Setup

  1. Download a custom launcher. Nova Launcher is my personal favorite. It’s completely free. Some prefer DaijiSho for emulation, but in my experience, Nova Launcher is a lot easier to navigate, especially if you bounce between Apps. Download your launcher of choice off of The Google Play Store.
  2. After downloading it, you will need to set it as your default launcher. You can do this by going to Android Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Home App > and selecting Nova Launcher.

Recommended Streaming Apps

  1. PSPlay (if you own a PS4 or PS5): $5
  2. Xbox Mobile App (For Xbox streaming): free
  3. Moonlight (for PC streaming): free
  4. Steamlink : (For easy PC remote play): free
  5. Zerotier (for playing your pc remotely over moonlight): free

PSPlay Setup

PSPlay automatically detects The G Cloud, but I highly recommend customizing the on screen controller so the touch pad is on the edge of the right side of the screen. You can do this by tapping the three lines in the upper left hand corner, then going to Remote Layout -> Create a new profile. Give your profile a name. From there, delete all of the onscreen buttons except the touch pad and move it to the top right of the machine near the face buttons. This makes it easy to access with your right hand. Is should look like this:

With this layout, accessing the touchpad is easy.

After this, go back to settings and click Profiles -> remote gamepad layout and select your new layout.

If for any reason you run into an issue, go into your router’s port forwarding page and forward these ports to the ip address of your Playstation: UDP 9302 (PS5 only), UDP 987 (PS4 only), UDP & TCP 9295, UDP 9296, UDP 9297.

Here is the guide from PSPlay on Port forwarding.

Xbox Mobile App Setup

After you enable remote features on your Xbox, tap the little Xbox lying on its side next to the bell icon to connect your system to The G Cloud.

The Xbox Mobile app is one of the major selling points of the G Cloud, and setting up streaming is fairly simple. Once you log into your Microsoft account on The Xbox App, follow these steps on your Xbox to enable remote play:

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.
  2. Go to Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Remote features.
  3. Select the Enable remote features checkbox.
  4. Under Power options, select Sleep.
  5. From there, go back to the G Cloud with The Xbox App. Click on the little console circle next to the bell icon in the top right.
  6. There will be a message that says “It looks like you haven’t set up a console here yet.” Select “Get Started”
  7. Select “Add an existing console”. You should see your system at this point. If not, make sure your G Cloud and Xbox are linked to the same Xbox Account.

Moonlight Setup

Moonlight is incredibly sleak, and works almost flawlessly on The G Cloud.

Moonlight is highly dependent on your computer for setup, but with an Nvidia card, it’s only a few steps. For any issues, consult their official guide.

  1. Click The Gear Icon from within the Geforce Experience application. Go to The Shield tab and turn on Game Streaming. Then, add the .exe bootable file for any games you want to play by clicking Add.
  2. If you are running Windows 11, you will need to disable Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling. Open “Graphics Settings” from the Start Menu, click “Change default graphics settings”, and move “Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling” to Off.
  3. Start The Moonlight App from your G Cloud. If Moonlight doesn’t auto detect your PC, type in the IP address of your computer on your home network. You can figure this out by going to whatismyip.com. From there, type the pin on your G Cloud into the prompt from Nvidia Experience and enjoy.
  4. Moonlight gets a little bit more complicated with the “Sleep” function on most computers. If your router supports wake on lan, you can set up your computer to wake over your local network. Here is a guide explaining how to enable wake on lan. NOTE: It is currently not possible to wake on lan using Zerotier remotely. This is a local feature only, meaning Moonlight over the internet requires you to disable automatic sleep in your computer’s system settings (more on this later).

If you don’t have an Nvidia Graphics card, you will have to install Sunshine on your computer. I won’t go into detail, but here is a youtube video that explains the setup process well.

Steam Link Setup

Steamlink setup is easy. Start Steam on your computer and login. Boot Steamlink from The G Cloud and sign in to your Steam account (it should be pre installed). One huge advantage of Steamlink over Moonlight is it doesn’t require you to disable sleep, and if for whatever reason you can’t get Moonlight working over the internet, Steamlink works remotely and locally.

In my experience, Moonlight both at home and over the internet streams games in much higher fidelity and with less problems. For this reason, I recommend booting Steam from Moonlight.

Zerotier Setup

Setting up Zerotier isn’t hard, but there are a few steps involved. For any issues, I highly recommend watching this youtube video.

This is what your Zerotier network should look like once you’ve logged into it from both your PC and G cloud.
  1. Go to zerotier.com from your computer and make an account. The idea is, we are going to sign your G Cloud and your PC into the virtual network so we can approve them from the website and stream your pc from anywhere.
  2. Download the zero tier application on your computer and make sure it’s running. Go to your start menu and right click the app, then click “join network”. Put the Network id for the network you created on the website in the zerotier app on your computer, then scroll to the bottom of the page and authorize your computer’s request to join the network (picture above).
  3. On the Zerotier page, uncheck all IPv6 settings and check “Enable Broadcast”. Take note of your computers IP address on the network. If your home network is already on the 192 ip range, switch it to the 10.144 range or anything else. For example, it could be 10.144.1.120.
  4. At the moment, Zerotier doesn’t support wake on lan, so you will need to disable automatic sleep in your computer’s settings to use it over Zerotier. To do this, open Settings > System > Power and Battery > Screen and Sleep. Set it to “Never”.
  5. Then, go to your G Cloud and launch the Zerotier app. Put the network ID into the prompt on the app, and authorize the G Cloud’s ip address on the network web page (pictured above). Then click on the network on your Gcloud and go to configuration.
  6. Make sure you click “tunnel all traffic through Zerotier” on the app (picture below).
  7. Go into Moonlight and click “Add Computer”. Type in the IP address of your PC on your Zerotier network.
It is very important you click “Route all traffic through Zerotier”.

Router Configuration

From there, download the Moonlight Internet Hosting Tool. After it is installed on your computer, run Moonlight Internet Hosting Tool. It will automatically configure the port forwarding for your router. If it works correctly, you should get a message that says “Moonlight is ready to stream over the internet!”

You should get a message that looks something like this if everything worked, otherwise consult the manual router configuration steps below.

Router Manual Setup

If for any reason, moonlight internet hosting tool doesn’t work, you will need to access your wireless router’s port forwarding page.

  1. Go to your router’s settings from a web browser. Open up a web browser and type in 192.168.1.1. If this doesn’t work, just google “how to login” + your router. Put in your username and password (usually, it’s “admin” for both by default).
  2. From there, navigate to the port forwarding page. You will need to forward these ports to the virtual IP of your PC on Zerotier: TCP 47984, 47989, 48010. UDP 47998, 47999, 48000, 48002, 48010.

So for example. It will look like:

Port: 47984 → to ip: 10.144.1.120 to Port → 47984 Protocol: TCP

Run The Moonlight Internet Hosting Tool again and make sure it tells you you are ready to stream over the internet.

This is my final layout using Nova Launcher.
