When you meet with people, how many pages of notes do you take?

If you study the most successful people in the world, you’ll start to connect some dots.

Although there are thousands of different ways to achieve a result, if you begin to study success, you’ll find: “Success leaves clues.” -Tony Robbins.

I’ve recently been studying Sam Walton, the founder of Wal-Mart. He has a book called ‘Made in America’ that I highly recommend.

One story that stuck out to me specifically was a story about Sam, and some Brazilian businessmen.

These Brazilian businessmen attempted to connect with various high level American business owners and sent them mail.

The American business owners all said no, or didn’t respond. Except for one, Sam Walton.

Sam invited them over to his home in Arkansas where they ate dinner and spent time together…

It was later said that Sam invited them over so he could see if he could learn anything from them.

Sam and the business owners kept in contact, and Sam later decided to visit them down in Brazil, where he was arrested.

Arrested?! Yup.

Sam Walton was arrested in Brazil for measuring the length between the aisles in the Brazilian supermarkets!

Wait what?!

He wanted to see if they knew something that he didn’t.

Sam was notorious for learning from everyone he encountered, he was obsessed!

He spent one night in that jail just for the possibility of learning ONE thing.

Sam was obsessed with maximizing his resources, optimizing everything, and learning from everyone.

We can all learn something from Sam.

What are your thoughts?
