I've read some accounts, especially Marvin Weisbord's chapter on "A Tale of Two Taylors". What I got from it? Taylor was much more in sync with TPM than people think. He basically defended the same flags of teamwork, cooperation, respect for the individual, etc.

From what I'd read before, I got the picture that he was this ruthless optimizer that would cut people based on individual performance. The sort of parallel usually drawn when using Taylor as the "root of all evil" in management… of all of today's maladies.
