Untrue. In fact it started at half. The actual quote is

You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people — now 11 million…

She didn’t double down, she walked it back (“I regret saying ‘half’ ― that was wrong”). She didn’t apologize though; perhaps she didn’t understand why she would have to apologize when Trump says untrue things regularly and never has to apologize… and who knows, maybe an apology would have made no difference. For whatever reason, people just hated her and were eager for more reasons to hate her.

Personally, I wish they would have hated the system she represents instead — and demand changes to that system. Ironically it was only Hillary and not Donald who supported the one change that would do the best job of changing our politics for the better: campaign finance reform.
