Well, it wasn’t “my” religion (which was part of the point of the article), and any belief system is only as constructive or destructive as the way the people involved in it utilize it. So, my family and the effects of their insane beliefs aren’t things that can be separated in this instance, but the Jehovah’s Witness belief system is a framework that becomes a vehicle for a lot of destruction in many, many, many people’s lives.

In my personal instance, my family played a big role in the experience, but Jehovah’s Witnesses (and many other religions) provide the distortions of reality that facilitate destructive actions in its followers.
