I don’t think this happens just to women. I suspect that anyone who posts something supportive of any candidate, male, female, republican, democrat, libertarian or whatever will garner their share of vitriolic responses from whomever the opposition is. If Albert Einstein, George Washington and the internet were all contemporaries I would suggest that if Al had tweeted a favorable comment about George I am sure he would have had many male and female respondents suggesting his intellectual capacity was somehow diminished and that brilliant scientists should stay out of politics ….. …..
