I went to a “Cinewomen” event featuring short films by women, in 1997 which featured this short (and went specifically to see this one) — so we know it was shot in at least 1997. I took notes on a pad (a bit tough in the pitch dark of the theater) and wrote it up for a friend’s Sandra Bullock website, which is now long gone, though I might still have the old computer; if so, it’d still take some doing to retrieve any files from it! I remember liking it very much. It was fanciful and light; I think the main conflict was that this couple with a little sandwich shop was facing the prospect of a larger one moving in on their territory.
