Taking Flight from Amal Fellowship: A Journey of Learning, Connection, and Growth
Time flew by, starting with the excitement of the first day and ending with emotional goodbyes and valuable lessons. Our last day at Amal Fellowship was filled with many memories, love and emotions. Saying goodbyes was never easy because from now on, we wouldn’t have fun weekend sessions and challenging projects during the week. But Amal taught us that it’s not the end; it’s the start of something new. The three-month journey has ended, but what will last forever are the friendships, great memories, and the important things we’ve learned.
On the last day, we had a wonderful activity that was very overwhelming. Each of us wrote notes about our fellows, and put those notes in their respective envelopes, creating a lasting memory of our Amal journey.
Getting handwritten notes always makes me happy. There’s something special about the way someone writes with a pen on paper that you can’t get from typing on a computer. Those handwritten notes from my Facilitators, my Mentors and Amal fellows are more than just pieces of paper; they’re reminders of what someone is thinking and feeling.
After that, we had our farewell lunch and enjoyed some fun activities. Then, our facilitators shared their farewell speech, and it was filled with emotions. They spoke from their hearts, and it was a moment that touched everyone that it was the end of a beautiful journey! To wrap up the day, we all gathered to cut a cake, adding a sweet ending to our time together.
These three months left a great impact on me. Amal didn't just teach me skills, it helped me grow, understand different things, find my strengths and show more gratitude for the little things that I took for granted. In the end, saying goodbye to Amal feels like ending a favourite season. The days were full of laughs, learning, and good times. The memories we made will stay close to my heart. Thanks, Amal family, for making this chapter so unforgettable. Adios to my Amal Family!
