What Is This New-Found Hate For Millennials?
Recently, there’s been a lot of news articles and discussions about how millennials are ruining a lot of industries or are lazy or can’t seem to afford houses even though the baby boomers have literally destroyed the housing market or THAT WE’VE KILLED THE MCDONALDS MCWRAP, but ya know, it’s the millennials that can’t do it. There’s been a lot of controversy and I’m not sure if people that hate on millennials actually understand why they hate on millennials.

Let’s take Tim Gurner, for example, he’s the man that said that millennials couldn’t afford houses because we eat Avocado Toasts that supposedly cost $19, and 4 $4 coffees each. Not only am I keen to know where you can get $19 Avocado Toast from, since it’s literally the cheapest item on any menu, but who is Tim Gurner talking about. According to Wikipedia, “demographers and researchers typically use the early 1980s as starting birth years and the mid-1990s to early 2000s as ending birth years.” Okay cool, early 1980’s. TIM GURNER WAS BORN IN 1982! PLOT TWIST, TIM GURNER IS A MILLENNIAL. Does he know that? Probably not. Does he care? Nah, as long as he get’s to join the bandwagon of hating on Millennials. Tbh it’s kinda like when Luke Skywalker finds out that Darth Vader is his father. But yeah, it’s all about being trendy in the community, and right now it’s super hip to destroy the real estate market and talk shiiiiiiiiit about millennials.

Now, I wish foregoing Avocado toast would buy me a house, because I don’t even like Avocado toast. Unpopular opinion. But the point still stands, do people even know why they’re hating on millennials? For one, let’s just say millennials start from the 1990’s, we haven’t even been alive long enough to have a significant impact on society or the economy. To me, it just seems that the Baby Boomers and the Gen X’ers need to place the blame on someone and who better than to do it to than the ones they created. Remember that time where your parents did something wrong, yet you’re the one that got yelled at? Yeah, this is the same thing except on a huge scale.
I don’t know though, I might be completely wrong and the millennials might be the worst generation of ages. But, if I’ve learned anything from my years of being alive and learning, it’s that those DAMN GEN Z’ers ARE DESTROYING THE ECONOMY AND EVERYTHING WE LOVE. THEY’VE POISONED THE WATER SUPPLY, BURNED OUR CROPS, AND DELIVERED A PLAGUE UNTO OUR HOUSES. This hasn’t happened yet, BUT ARE WE GOING TO WAIT AROUND TILL THEY DO?!
