Week 2-Final outcomes of 2 printmaking workshops

I am not satisfied with the outcomes I got form the first letterpress workshop. Therefore, I printed my photo etching on brand new papers and brought them to do the letterpress again today.

From the outcomes today, I learned:

  1. It’s better to do letterpress first because when you etched some images on the paper, it created different height on the paper. Therefore, if you want to do some overprint design, print the letters on the images, it might sometimes hard to get the letters to print properly.
  2. When the paper you choose is too thick, you will feel a force against you while rolling the letterpress machine. If you force it to roll till the end it could cause damage on the press or the letter types. Therefore, it’s important to notice that how thick the paper is while doing the letterpress.
