Week4- Questioning your source

We were taught some ways today in the class to expand sources to creative ideas.
First exercise is that questioning the sources you got. Asking questions like “what is it? ”, “ What is it made of?” or “ Why dose it exist?” … etc. Imagine you self as an alien that you know nothing, so you question about everything. Whenever you got an answer(s), expand more questions from the answer(s). Then, you will find some interesting points coming out.

After this, you can also brainstorming this answers by visualising them and see if there’s any images that you found quite interesting.

Another exercise is that find some pages with text like newspapers, magazines, and then find words that you think they could describe the feelings of your work and pick them out to produce a poetry. Through the poetry you might develop to something else could be interesting.

An important point about these exercises is that don’t hesitate and take too much time to do them. Just do it with intuition, don’t think about right or wrong, try to come out with as many ideas as possible.
Finally, you can produce an outcome based on the an idea(s) you develop above. Same as the rule just mentioned, don’t take too much time to make it. This is what I made based on the idea “relationship”.
The relationship is sort of connection. Therefore, this is combination of several “connection”. First, the material, it all made of wood. Secondly, it was bonded together. Thirdly, the cross of the sticks is another expression of connection. Finally, the papers are torn and connect with the stick.
