YOU CAN DO ANYTHING- our own limitations exist in our mind. I never thought I start a business let alone run half a marathon (when I have never run before!)

As part of my series about young people who are making an important social impact”, I had the pleasure of interviewing Victoria Fraser.

Victoria Fraser is a Business Wellbeing Coach, who is helping individuals and business owners know themselves, follow their dreams and create more time so they have a work-life balance both internally and externally. Please don’t stare! We expect it from kids. That’s okay. But adults should know better. And please, if your kids have questions, let them ask. Don’t quiet them and drag them away wondering. That just teaches them that people with a disability aren’t worthy, and could cause loss of respect or fear. The most common questions I get are, what happened to your hands or why are your legs so different? Let us help the kids learn and understand, and not develop that second-class citizen opinion. Personally, I welcome all questions. I know you have them.

As a part of…

Never stop believing in the incredible powers of your body. We are more powerful than we think. There is pure magic in us and if we create the right conditions in our life to let that magic express itself, miracles can happen. Our cells respond to each of our thoughts and beliefs — and it starts right here with changing ‘I can’t’ into ‘I can’.

As a part of our “Unstoppable” series, I had the pleasure of interviewing Julie Morin, Co-Founder of Envol.

As someone who’s spent years battling chronic illness, Julie knows how difficult and pricey it can be…

Consistency is key. To be consistent, you cannot lose sight of your ambitions. There are 365 days in a year, think “what challenge will I overcome today?” and you will be surprised with your result

Believe in yourself. Journalism is a competitive industry with lots of people looking to make their mark. Self-belief and confidence are essential if you want to succeed. My philosophy is that if you are fortunate enough to be given a platform, you have a responsibility to do something good with it. For me, teaming up with World Vision has been a great way to take the audience I have on a journey and together be able to help refugees from Syria. I spent some time in the Refugee Camps in Jordan last year which was amazing and heartbreaking. Right after that trip, I was part of a campaign in New Zealand where New Zealand youth raised millions of dollars to help those in need in the camps…

Investing in my personal and professional development is also a big priority for me. I love taking online courses and listening to podcasts. Allow the work to change you: Be prepared to have your heart strings tugged on, your days fulfilled, and to have a job changing people’s lives. The pandemic has brought to light many things that may have been easier to brush aside — like mental health. The focus has shifted not only to our physical health but making sure we are caring for ourselves — like they always say — we must put on our own oxygen masks before we can attempt to help another.

As a part of my series about the things we can do to remain hopeful and support each other during anxious times, I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Lisa Lippman.
