Entrepreneurship
It was a torrid Sunday and I was desperately waiting at Ministry of Education for getting my documents processed. As I was just roaming around, a little girl caught my attention. I believe she was less than 10 years old. She was charming, smiling all the times and on top of that she was fluent speaker.
Few people were waiting on line, some were confused on how to fill up the forms and that little girl was offering help.It was surprising to see someone who was just learning to read and write (given her age) offering help to people with higher educational degree. Luckily, she was offering me help after few minutes. To my surprise that little girl had something more to offer, she would fill up the form in free but I had to buy the passport cover she was selling which cost about hundred rupees. This was very surprising for me. I was not in need for help but I was very fascinated the way she was running her small business to sell passport covers. Later realized she was funding her family expenses as well as education with the money she was earning there. It was a very nice lesson for me. A little girl who is less than ten years of age was supporting her family with such an attractive business plan. Her salesmanship deserved high respect as well as praise. If you happen to go to Ministry of Education, please do buy her passport covers.
