Live.RaceCast.me Portal User Guide — Creating Events

Upcoming Events are listed on the home page of https://live.racecast.me as well as in the Events which can be accessed using the FLAG Icon.

If an event hasn’t already been created for a race you plan to attend and live-stream, create one! The process is simple:

  1. Login and access the Events section of the portal by clicking on the FLAG Icon.
  2. Choose “Create New Event”
  3. Populate the Name and Location of the Event
  4. Choose the Start and End dates of the Event
  5. Choose the TimeZone of the event and use the sliders to pick the beginning and ending time of the Event each day.
  6. If you know the Race Monitor RaceID fill that in as well, this will assist us when we inject your live-stream broadcast into the Race-Monitor Mobile App. There are instruction for how to find the Race Monitor RaceID.
  7. Click “Create Event”
  8. The Event will be created and you will be forwarded to the newly created Event Page.
  9. If you have already populated your “Live-Stream Title” in your Settings (accessed by clicking on the Gear Icon), click the green “I’m Attending” button at the top right of the Event page. You should now see that you have been added to the Event as a Participant.
  10. Email, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter your fellow racers who will be racing at the Event and encourage them to SignUp for a RaceCast.me account, configure their phone and join the Event too! The more participants streaming at an Event, the more exciting it is to watch!
Creating an Event only requires you to complete one short form!

If you don’t know the Race Monitor RaceID for the Event you’ve just created, head over to http://www.race-monitor.com, choose “Live Timing” from the top menu items and look for your Event. Sometimes the event coordinator does not create the Race Monitor event until the day before or the day of the event, so if you can’t find the event, don’t worry, you can always return later, edit your RaceCast.me event and populate the RaceID once the Race Monitor event has been created.

Once you find the Race Monitor event that corresponds to the RaceCast.me event you’ve created, click on it to bring up the Race Monitor event details page. The RaceID is found in the browser URL (highlighted below). It will be a 5 or 6 digit number.
