Please help us build Kondanani Children’s Hospital
I recently spent three months at this incredible place and can honestly say that I have never experienced such immense love. This project is an amazing overflow of that love and a way to sow into the lives of this Malawian community.
Annie Chikhwaza, founder of Kondanani Children’s Village in Malawi , explained to me that in their surrounding chiefdom there is an estimated 375 000 people. A shocking 70% of these people are living with HIV/Aids.
Subsequently the current mortality rate of children below the age of 5 years old, is 112 children, for every 1000 births.
This is directly related to lack of sufficient medical care and pure negligence.
Kondanani Children’s Village, finds itself, situated right in the middle of this reality.
Their hope, in building this hospital, is that it will become a beacon of light in a dark place, a hope for the desperate mother with no place else to go and a lifeline for the little one born into this very real reality.
The hospital currently has capacity for 60 children below the age of 5 years old, but with expansion, it will cater for even more. Kondanani already has the equipment necessary, such as incubators, and so as soon as the upgrades are completed, it can open its doors as a fully functional children’s hospital, providing free medical care.
Your donation will go directly into upgrading the current baby care center, into a fully-fledged children’s hospital. 300 bags of cement, sand, lime and about 150 litres of paint are still needed in order to plaster the walls and re-do the floors. This is currently the biggest priority.
Personally, I know the people who are wanting to build this hospital — their hearts are so pure and they are wanting to help meet the very real need of their surrounding community. I ask you to please partner with them as they impact those around them in a very real way.
If it is on your heart to make a donation, please do so on Kondanani’s PayPal account or via EFT, which you can find on their website. Click on “Get involved” and then the rest is history! Please make reference to “Hospital.”
Thank- you for your time, effort & amazing heart :)
