My son is waist-deep in the ball pit. He is surrounded by thousands of dark green and purple coloured plastic balls which form a moat around a giant inflatable called Jelly Mountain.

There’s a wide flat platform and then a pyramid with a dozen children scrambling for the peak in their socks. Some can barely get off the ground, others make it part-way up only to slip down…
