It’s bad enough you’ve gotten this treatment but sadly it’s pretty much a system wide culture of they haven’t been trained properly and couldn’t care less about the people of the public that are essentially customers.
But instead of treating people like customers, they seem to treat everyone like suspects or criminals. People they HAVE to deal with but really don’t want to.
They don’t seem to realize that without the people that have no choice but to go through, they wouldn’t have a job.
Maybe people should start complaining to the airlines. After all the paycheck for the TSA people ultimately comes from the purchase (in part) of your ticket as one of those fees tacked on.
